Discovering the Joy of Interest-Led Learning: A Recap of Our Webinar
Updated: Jul 27
I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a recent webinar where we explored the first three steps to implementing interest-led learning in your homeschool as well as a few myths & misconceptions. What a wonderful experience it was to connect with homeschool moms who are eager to make learning more engaging and less stressful for their children!
⭐️ Unpacking the 3 Steps to Interest-Led Learning
During the webinar, we dove into the core principles of interest-led learning, starting with how to develop a plan, then identify your child’s passions and integrate faith-based themes into their education. It was enlightening to see how moms realized that education doesn’t have to be rigid and stressful. Instead, learning can be a natural, joyful experience that nurtures curiosity and spiritual growth.
⭐️ Debunking the Myths
We also addressed some common myths about interest-led learning. One major concern was the fear of a lack of structure. We discussed how interest-led learning does not mean abandoning structure; it means adapting the structure to fit your child’s unique learning style. This revelation brought a sense of relief to many moms, helping them see that flexibility can coexist with academic rigor.
Another myth we debunked was the idea that interest-led learning cannot adequately prepare children for the future. In reality, this approach equips children with critical thinking skills, creativity, and a love of learning—qualities that are invaluable for lifelong success.
